SATELYX Joins iSPARK, Taiwan's New Hsinchu Space Accelerator

SATELYX has been named an international co-creation partner of iSPARK, the space-industry accelerator that the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) opened last month in Hsinchu, per a report from Technology.org .

iSPARK sits on the Boai campus of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, close to TASA itself and inside the same cluster that built Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. TASA offers three ways in: physical desk space on campus, a remote track with mentoring and workshop access, and co-creation partnership, the route for outside companies that bring startups something they can deploy directly. SATELYX’s contribution is flight heritage, bundling multiple companies’ hardware onto a single mission so each participant gets proof its tech has flown, without funding an entire satellite alone.

Matthew Mappin, SATELYX co-founder and co-CEO, on the fit:

“The positioning of iSPARK alongside the university, the science park and TASA reflects how we think about building space companies. Universities are where new ideas and technologies emerge; technology clusters are where those ideas become products and companies; and TASA is positioned to help turn that development into commercial space capability. That intersection is exactly where SATELYX wants to work.”

Taiwan’s Third Phase space programme already has NT$71 billion committed, with officials targeting a NT$500 billion domestic space sector by 2031, the backdrop for why TASA built iSPARK to turn research groups and hardware teams into companies that can sell something. Next up for SATELYX: a webinar series for Space Hub Yorkshire starting in September, early conversations with ESA’s business incubation centres, and TASTI 2026 in southern Taiwan this November.
