Vibe Coding a Revenue-Generating App Got Easier. Keeping It Yours Didn't.

On November 24, 2025, I posted a short tweet pushing back on a specific promise that was going around at the time: that agentic coding tools give “non-developer folks” a lower entry barrier for “building a revenue generating app on their own.” Half an hour later, replying to a comment on it , I added the point that actually mattered more: vibe coding collapses the cost of building features, but it doesn’t collapse anything that lives outside the code: the data, the compliance, the trust, the distribution. Nine months later, that second point is the one I’d stand behind hardest, and the one the evidence has done the most to confirm.
